The 300 PRC represents a meticulously engineered magnum cartridge tailored for the 21st century, designed explicitly to maximize the potential of long-range shooting with heavy-caliber bullets, delivering unparalleled accuracy and exceptional aerodynamic performance.
Derived from the 375 Ruger cartridge case, the 300 PRC is a non-belted cartridge that utilizes a standard .532” magnum bolt face, headspacing off a 30-degree shoulder. This design choice ensures superior chamber alignment, surpassing traditional belted magnum cartridges, and greatly enhances stacking and feeding from fixed magazines.
The 300 PRC cartridge and chamber were developed concurrently, harmonizing to offer impeccable alignment and finely tuned performance. The cartridge case is engineered for the use of readily available, temperature-stable magnum-speed rifle powders, resulting in remarkable consistency in velocity and prolonged barrel life, a significant advantage over existing magnum cartridges.

Match-Grade Accuracy: The streamlined secant ogive, optimal boattail design, and highly concentric AMP® bullet jackets, in conjunction with the Heat Shield® tip, result in vastly superior aerodynamic efficiency.
Devastating Performance at Conventional Ranges: At high velocities, up to 400 yards, the bullet consistently expands along its penetration path. The robust shank of the jacket, combined with a high InterLock® ring, ensures 50%-60% weight retention.
Exceptional Extended Range Terminal Performance: At low velocities, beyond 400 yards, the Heat Shield® tip drives backward into the bullet, initiating expansion. This controlled expansion, along with a substantial mushroom and 85%-90% retained weight, delivers deep penetration and substantial wound cavities. The Precision Hunter™ ammunition is available in component bullets or as factory-loaded cartridges.
